How do I make payments?
It’s simple! We will send you over a secure payment link to pay with a debit/credit cards. We also accept HSA (Health Savings Account) debit cards. *While not all HSA or insurance plans cover Doula care or Childbirth Education we can provide a detailed receipt for you to submit for insurance or HSA reimbursements.
I am under the care of a Midwife, why would I need a doula?
Midwives are your medical professionals you hire to meet your medical needs during pregnancy, birth and immediate postpartum. Doulas are your non-medical, emotional, physical and educational support team who you hire to help support you, your partner and the birth you envisioned. A doula often arrives hours before you even call or see your midwife. While we aren’t interchangeable, having both a doula and a midwife makes a great team!
What happens if i need/want a Cesarean?
Birth is Birth. We are trained & educated to support birth both vaginally & by belly. While the physical type of support may differ slightly depending on circumstances during labor, your doula will be there ready to support you and your family as much as you need (or want). Now, what can that look like? If allowed into the OR - we may hold your hand in the OR, take pictures, explain what is happening in the moment, wait in pre-op & post op with you- before and after birth, offering birth planning sessions to help you plan mentally and physical for birth and postpartum, offering suggestions, resources and wisdom.
When you hire a doula to support you in birth, you’re hiring them to support the entire team - including your partner. It is important that everyone is in agreement with how and what support looks like. I encourage partners to always be on our consults so that they can better understand the role of a doula, answer any questions they may have, or ease some fears of being replaced or not needed.
What if my partner doesn’t want a doula present?
What is the difference between private Childbirth Classes & the one my hospital offers?
We are not hired by the hospital. We are hired by you to provide you with evidenced based, unbiased information. We let you know all the options you may have while in labor and empower you to make the right choices for your birth and the birth you have envisioned.
Private classes offer a safe space to ask questions, talk freely, & around your schedules!
